DR ZELDA DE BEER

Dr. de Beer obtained her MBChB from the University of Pretoria Medical School, graduating as part of the Class of 2016. Subsequently, she fulfilled her internship duties at Steve Biko Academic Hospital and completed her community service at Tshwane District Hospital, concurrently pursuing and obtaining a Diploma in Advanced HIV Management.

 

In 2020, she engaged in clinical research concerning COVID-19 and its impact on the immune system at the University of Pretoria, collaborating within the framework of the Department of Medical Immunology and she is currently pursuing a postgraduate diploma in Palliative Care Medicine at the University of Cape Town.

 

Demonstrating a profound commitment to patient welfare, Dr. de Beer is particularly dedicated to ensuring the provision of high-quality, compassionate care. Her professional interests encompass Palliative Care, Pain Management, Lifestyle Medicine, HIV management and Ethics.

 

She advocates for the notion that fostering a healthy lifestyle constitutes the best medicine, believing that good nutrition and adequate physical activity has great therapeutic potential.

 

She endeavours to maintain an equilibrium across various facets of life and derives pleasure from outdoor activities, such as running, active engagement in her community, artistic pursuits including music and spending time building healthy relationships with friends and family.

 

Grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the holistic and proficient care administered by the DMO team, Dr. de Beer brings to the table a wealth of experience in collaborative healthcare provision. Her approach is characterized by a positive demeanor, with a focus on extending support to individuals and their families in a manner reflective of her own familial care standards.
